DMA:

The Directorate of Municipal Administration was established in Karnataka vide G.O No.HUD58MNY80 dt.4.12.1984 to oversee the affairs of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the State, except Bangalore City Corporation. The main function of the Directorate is to have an effective co-ordination with the ULBs as well as with the Deputy Commissioner of each District on the one hand and the Secretariat in the Government on the other hand. The Directorate has the responsibility to supervise the function of the municipalities, work out suitable human resource policies, exercise disciplinary control over the staff of municipalities, monitor the tax collection of ULBs, lay down policies for transparency in expenditures and hear appeals against the decisions of municipalities. Release the Government grants to the ULBs, to implement Government schemes like SJSRY etc. are the other major functions of DMA.

CMAK:

City Manager's Association Karnataka (CMAK) is a membership based non-profit making professional body of City Managers’ and Urban Planners, which works to strengthen and enhance the capacities of ULBs, UDAs and Association members in Urban Planning, Management and Development. We believe in effectively utilizing and encouraging the existing expertise in urban development with a focus on innovative practices, trends and concepts.

KMDS:

Karnataka Municipal Data Society® (KMDS) was setup under the Order No. UDD 50 TMD 2007 dated 22/12/2007 by the Government of Karnataka. The Society was registered with the Registrar of Societies under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 on the 13th Feb 2008. The Registered office of the Society is situated at 6th floor, North block, IT park, Rajajinagar Industrial Estate, Bangalore-44.The intention of the Government of Karnataka in setting up KMDS is to manage e-governance initiatives of the Urban Local Bodies.
